Schools directly across from one another are opposing schools
The School Name is along the outside edge. There is one pure spell user per School. They are listed with the Hybrid casters from the same school (the hybrid casers have asterisks in front of them.

There may even be "racial" magic like Dwarves use Sorcery, Gnomes use Wizardry or Ocs use Spirit Magic...

Interesting! Did you come up with a reason why those schools are opposing each other? Is there a metaphysical reason? Are there conflicting organization?
There may even be "racial" magic like Dwarves use Sorcery, Gnomes use Wizardry or Ocs use Spirit Magic...
Granted the placements are somewhat esoteric in essence, but here is some of my thought processes.
- Divine Magic opposes Black Magic because Divine deals with Celestial while Black deals with Infernal beings and creatures
- Natural Magic opposes Sorcery - Natural is all about nature. Sorcery is the scientific approach
- Sorcery is beside Black Magic because they both deal with magic following specific rules (i.e. how making a pact after
- Spirit Magic is beside Divine because Spirits, while generally neutral, are closer the Celestial end of the spectrum since it forcuses on working with the spirits, not capturing/controlling them like Black Magic.
- Speaking of Control, that also bleeds into Mysticism, although Mysticism is usually about control of self (technically, the Shadowkin could possibly bleed into both Black Magic and Mysticim, but I didn't wna to have Hybrid casters being split across schools)
Also, there is the Mind, Body, Spirit trinity, Mysticism covers the Mind, and Spirit Magic the Spirit, which makes Sorcery and/or Natural Magic be for the Body and since both deal with the physical in different ways, that works too. - So, if we are thinking of Natual Magic as one of the options for Body, and Mysticism for the mind, that allows Wizardry (which is primarily verbal magic) serve as the expression of the mind through the physical expression of the voice.
- That leaves us with High Magic, Which contains a wide variety of spells. It includes ritualized casting of spells (hints of sorcery), but the material components they choose is often based on affinities (which hints of spiritual connections like found those found in Spirit Magic).
