Novus RPG / Novus Deluxe Version PDF- Rogue Class Question
« on: October 06, 2012, 04:02:12 AM »
Did a forum search and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I can find no reference to Rogues, other than as a nod to the Scout Class (p. 15).  Thanks

Novus RPG / Background Skill Ranks
« on: May 17, 2011, 11:03:16 PM »
Sylvan
Those from this Background live in harmony with nature, often in villages found in deep forests.
Skill Ranks: Athletics (1), Crafting (2), Combat Skills (4), Lore: Local Region (2), Magecraft (2), Perception (2), Stealth (3), Survival (2), Tracking (2)

Can a player allocate or split up the (4) Combat Skill ranks given above, amongst any Combat Skills he may have? For example, 2 ranks into the Swords Skill and 2 ranks into the Bow Skill?

Novus RPG / Fate points
« on: May 17, 2011, 04:06:03 PM »
p.16

Every character starts with 3 Fate Points. He will then gain one additional Fate Point each level, up to a maximum of 5 Fate Points.

Does a character receive an additional Fate point at 1st level (for a total of 4 Fate Points at 1st level)? Or does the bonus Fate Point begin at 2nd level onward?

Thanks!

Novus RPG / Learning Spells
« on: May 14, 2011, 01:21:11 AM »
While creating a spell casting character the "Learning Spells" section caught my eye.

Imagine finding the dusty bones of a long- dead adventurer, deep in the bowels of a dungeon. You gingerly open the adventurer's pack, finding a spell book amongst other items! Quickly opening the book, you flip its pages and notice faded arcane scrawlings on one of the pages.

The player makes a Magecraft (Decipher) test to identify the spell- TN 15 + Spell Point Cost. The spell has a TN of 19. The player rolls well. It's a Flash spell!

Next the player decides she wants to learn the Flash spell. Can her character learn the spell right now? In the dungeon? How long will it take?

I didn't see it anywhere, but I am suggesting that a spell take 1 hour, per Spell Point Cost, to learn. Once a spell has been learned, and paid for, it may be written in the caster's spell book.

What do you guys think?
