As proposed, keep Alchemy and Creatures for their own books.
I thought, but I am not convinced this is a smart thing to do, you could have small thematics booklets : Nature (natural magic, druids, rangers, some animals…), Divine (clerics, paladins, angels and demons…), Mind over Matter (Mysticism, martial arts…)…

That's a very good idea I think.
You could even elaborate on that and consider that all monsters are either corrupted spirits or possessed animals/plants/whatever.
I did that a long time ago in a homebrew campaign but nowadays it may be dangerously close to the precept from the Dragon Age serie where many monsters and all undeads are possessed by demons who in turn are (reputedly) corrupted spirit.

Maybe you could consider lore differently than in medieval period because there are many more fields of study in modern era and a lot more in-depth knowldege. Maybe you could have special lore skills to reflect educational level including general level with some specializations.

My softcover copy shipped in last week. I must be getting old, but I much prefer real books than pdf. PDF are nice and portable but nothing beats a book.
