I was working on the Quickstart this morning.
Working out how far, the party would be travelling (i am going to hae them on foot, so we can make travel last 6 days (81.25 miles) or so.
Then when I went to figure out how many encounter rolls that would be, I noticed something that I did that seems extra odd....
When rolling encounters, roll 2d10, and add mods. -- if >20, you have a site encounter; if >30 you have a physical encounter.
The odd part is that if you get a site encounter, I then have you rolling another d10 to get an even/odd result to determine whether or not you site it or it sites you..
Only I have no idea why I said to roll that extra die, when I could hae just said that if the encounter roll is odd, it sites you, if even you spot it
I am going to, on next version, if any more changes are needed) going to remove that extra die and just go with even/odd on the encounter roll.

That's not something I noticed. I seldom use random encounters.
As to your modification, the less rolls the better I think.

Cool- I personally like using random encounters by a combination of terrain & power-level and often build little charts that reflect the locale we're playing in. Might be a good add-on for future Librams?

I like such tables as well, but they should be built specifically for the setting, which is why the core book (without setting) does not have any.
I'll be making some for the quickstart and later for Anwyn.
