Okay, I have added a "Frequently Asked Questions" page to the menu on the main site. I have 3 starter questions on it.
What I would like and appreciate is if you guys could suggest other questions that I can add to that page. Just post the questions here, and I will worry about answering them properly in the FAQ page.

No you added a Frewuently asked Questions page.........................
-
okay, I fixed the subject line of my post... (http:///bigsmile.gif)

So, is anybody going to post some questions that I can add to the lFAQ (note: these could be questions that you already know the answers to, but which a newcomer might not know...)
-
Here is one.........how do you advance stats? I couldn't find it last night........
-
Talent - Stat Increase

Anybody else have any questions for the FAQ??
-
Do the talents "Combat training I" and "Combat Training II" stack with each other?

Do the talents "Combat training I" and "Combat Training II" stack with each other?
No, they don't
Added to "Novus FAQ" page...
-
So, you can learn one or the other, but not both?
-
They are basically two different levels of the same Talent - Combat Training -- and as the rules state, you cannot have two of the same talent unless the rules specifically state otherwise...
Now, I have been thinking, and it might be an idea to create an upgrade talent of some sort for Combat Training, to allow somebody with Combat Training I to upgrade to upgrade to Combat Training II, but that would be something else entirely...

I like the idea of an upgrade talent. However, that opens the door to talent trees, which is something you may not want to consider.
-
I already sort of have them...
The Armor talents, if you have Armor, Light, you don't pay full price for Armor, Medium or Armor, Heavy. However, you don't HAVE to get the lower Armor talents to get the higher level one...
Plus we also have one or two talents that have prerequisites, so that would not be adding anything new either...
The thing to watch out for is for indepth trees, where you have to get half a dozen other talents before getting a certain one. So long as we are careful in that regard (I would put a limit of 3 levels on any "talent tree" type of thing), then that should be fine...
-
I think that the combat 1 and 2 talents should be treated like the armor talents. When you want to upgrade just pay the difference in price.

Well, technically that is what the upgrade talent will actually do.
And it is simple to tuck in a house rule to allow for doing it the way you suggest. (http:///bigsmile.gif)

Questions regarding monsters:
For monster listing where multiple natural attacks are listed such as claw and bite, is a monster allowed to use all these attacks listed in one round?
Are monsters with multiple natural attacks subject to any Attack Bonus penalties for attacks beyond the first ?
Where not otherwise indicated for purposes of determining the number of AP used, are monster special abilities considered 'Cast a spell, Use Item or Rune/Read Spell' or 'Perform Instantaneous Spell Action (if any)'?
-
okay, FAQ updated with answers...
-
Awesome, thanks for the clarifications!
-
Great job with the FAQ Tim. It presents clear answer to basic questions for newcomers along with advanced tips (monsters shape changing, bleeding healing...). You may want to add your answer to my exhaustion question.
The "how many spells can I learn" formula may need a fix. In the FAQ it says max known spells=magecraft skill ranks whereas in Novus it says magecraft ranks+3. (p24, left column, learning spells entry).
