In LN#10 several of the Alchemy specialities of Magecraft require other skills to be known first. Do these prerequisite skills require a minimum number of ranks to be considered as being known?

I don't recall there being a requisite # of ranks. But, off-hand, I would say 6 ranks would be reasonable before some one believes it's worth their time to pass along their knowledge & possibly secrets. Libram Novus #5 has a table of Ranks/Title. I'd use that and scale it up 1 level. So, in order to be accepted as a Novice by an Alchemist making swords, you'd need to be at least a Journeyman Sword-Smith for example.

Therer are no requisite number of ranks, but the more you know, the better you will be at crafting or making or doing whatever. Though I do like the idea of being a journeyman, or at least a Senior Apprentice (say 4-5 ranks)

This was what I was thinking. One has to have at least some basic knowledge to progress to more advanced studies.
